With well over a decade experience in the field, we have fielded many questions about face care. Here are some of the more common questions and our answers.
A facial is a series of treatments all for the face that are designed to help clarify and repair the skin and restore luster. Done regularly, they can help maintain a youthful appearance and help strengthen your skins natural defenses.
Create a routine that works for you. There is no right or wrong answer here, the main thing is to have a routine then stick to it. Just remember to keep your daily routine simple or you wont maintain it for long. I have a daily one and one for special occasions or those times when I can carve out some extra time for a special treat. You can find Très Spa’s easy to follow 4 Steps to a Healthy Glowing Face here. This is what I use for a spa inspired facial at home or when I travel. Simple and nature based works every time.
Whenever you have the time to do it. Facials are not dependent on the clock or the season. Just like all of our other skincare products, you can use a face mask any time day or night year round. The plants and the minerals do not know or care what time is on the clock or what month it is.
Yes, all of them. Just like the plants not knowing what time of day it is, they are not effected by your gender or your gender identity. The only products we created that take gender into account is the Organic B.B.S. Shaving Soap and the Aftershave. Women can still use them both, but they have special ingredients beneficial for those who have a battle with face hair and shave regularly.
Simply spritz your face with a bit of water and re-smooth the mask over with your brush or fingers. In some cases you may need to apply a touch up amount so if there is left over mask material you can use that. Worst case, just toss a bit of the mineral clay mix in with a splash of water to make a patching plaster.
You really don’t need to scrub your face that hard. Let the water do the work at removing your face mask. Seriously! You only want to help open up slogged pores, slough off debris and maybe help shed the top layer. The circular scrubbing motion can also stimulate circulation and regeneration. For my face, I found using one of our silicone face cleansing pads to be very beneficial.
I have been guilty of both leaving my mask on for to long and for scrubbing to hard. It happens. We get lost into a project or we forget what time it is. Sometimes we just get a bit to overzealous in removing the mask.
To help it cool off faster I used the apres Soleil splash body mist. This mist (and the oil) I designed to help those who suffer skin irritations like eczema and psoriasis so I knew this would bring the fresh cooling restorative treatment I needed.
I’d like to say this example was intentional for this post, but that’s not true. See, what happened is I was busy writing and I lost tack of time. I was also experimenting with a new ingredient that I wanted to try for a new Très Spa mask formula, the origin of our Moss & Charcoal mask. Looking past the redness, my face felt amazingly silky and smooth for days!
Ever hear the phrase “Never let them see you sweat!”? Try this technique to help give your skin a soft matte finish. Perfect for those times when you don’t want to show any excess moisture or oil.
Acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea are the most common skin challenges on the more severe scale. However, there are many more challenges that are far more common; maturing skin, dry skin, oily skin, and combination skin. Some situations may require medical and professional intervention but there are many things you can do to help your situation.
The reason why we add moisturizers to any part of our skin is the same no matter where the skin is. There are many types of moisturizers that serve the same purpose. Which one is better comes down to personal choice and experience. A regular practice of using a natural moisturizer can help you:
Restore luster
Nourish depleted skin
Bolster the skins ability to retain moisture
It is amazing me how many people never use a toner. This gem is the cornerstone of my personal face care routine and I cannot imagine a day without it. I wasn’t always like that, but when I learned of the true value of a well balanced and blended botanical toner, I have embraced it as a key step in keeping my face nourished. Learn what a toner can do for you then decide for yourself.
