Tres Spa uses a custom blend of essential plant oils to create a truly unique and distinctive product. In designing the scent blends, we took our inspiration from nature. Makes sense since the products created are all from natural ingredients. Each of the four main scent lines represents the four elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Oils are selected for a number of reasons, the ability to add value to the overall aroma, the therapeutic qualities of the oil, and the ability to blend well with the other natural ingredients to create a valuable product for you to use. Because we use pure essential oils for the scents, the products are more delicate in that the scent will not be overpowering or tend to hang heavy around you or in a room. It's difficult to really understand a scent without being able to smell it for yourself, and since there is no such thing as scratch and sniff for the world of electronics, we have provided a brief summary for each of the blends writen by the creator of the blend.

Fire:

When I think of fire, I think of the Sun and its life sustaining force. Here is where you will find the subtly sweet aromas of various essential oils from citrus plants and fruits. While blends will use all or some of the aroma families to create a complex full pallet of smell, the dominating aroma will be citrus.

Awaken Awaken is the first in this family of blends. In creating this aroma blend, I was inspired by the sun kissed citrus the summer months bring. This one reminds me of waking up in the morning with fresh squeezed orange juice and delicious pink grapefruit halves bursting with flavor. The smell is fresh and slightly sweet comprised of a combination of Orange, Pink Grapefruit, Bergamot, and a touch of Clove. The Orange, Grapefruit, and Bergamot work together to stimulate the senses while the Clove balances the scent with a hint of warm spice. I can’t think of any better way to start the day than with this pure essential blend! .As my 8 year old niece would say of her favorite scent blend, "If you like to be awake, then you'll really like Awaken". Shis only 8 right now, but I think she has a promissing career writing jingles, don't you?!
Zesty Citrus With the summer approaching I was inspired by the appearance of fresh Lemons and Limes filling the fruit trees. This is a very simple blend of Lemon, Lime and Pink Grapefruit. The resulting aroma of the essential oils creates a light and refreshing scent that starts out with a burst that fades to a pleasant tingling in the nose. This aroma is the perfect blend to help brighten your day no matter where you are or what the weather is outside! Close your eyes, breath deep and be transported to a bright summer day with the fresh clean scent of ripe fruit being carried on the summer breeze.
Orange Sherbert This is a great scent for kids and teens! It combines the bright sweet notes of the essential oil from the orange with vanilla and the result is a fun aroma reminiscent of Orange sherbert. OK, even if you aren’t still a kid, this is still a great treat for the senses!

Water:

The aroma family for this category is herbal.

Invigorate While I grew up in Michigan and spent the first half of my life between there and Ontario Canada, I am fortunate to currently live in Northern California where I am not far from the Pacific Ocean. One of the drives over to the ocean takes you through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. No matter what time of year or what the weather is outside, I always roll down my window and breathe in the wonderful fragrance. In designing this scent blend I remembered this lovely patch of trees and the powerful Pacific Ocean just beyond their gate. The Eucalyptus and the Rosemary possess a herbaceous aroma that blends well together. Eucalyptus adds the wood undertones and the Rosemary gives the camphorous vapor. The Peppermint has a penetrating sharp and slightly sweet menthol scent. All of these combine to make a very powerful and invigorating scent. .

Minty This is a simple blend of essential oils of Peppermint and Spearmint. In this combination the peppermint lends a deap penetrating aroma while the sweet softness of the spearmint rounds the tone out. The scent is invigorating and opening for your sences.

Earth:

As the name would imply, the scent blends in this group would contain the earthy, woody aromas found in essential oils from various trees and plants.

Renew I love the outdoors and one of my favorite vacation getaway’s is camping. My favorite place to go is a nearby ancient stand of redwood trees. The moment I reach our campsite and start to set up for our stay, I feel relaxed and peaceful. By the end of our visit we always feel restored and ready to take on whatever challenges lay before us. This blend combines the pure essential oils of long leaf Pine (representing the sweet resinous scent common in the Northern forests) with Cedarwood (camphoraceous and balsamic). I’ve added one of my favorite essential oils to this blend, Clary Sage. Clary Sage, while it is an herb, has a fragrance that is boundless with characteristics of earth, fruit, and floral that is both nutty and herbal. The blend is finished with the wonderful warm earthy aroma of the Patchouli leaf.
Hinoki Asia Wood I was inspired to create this scent as a homage to the Japanese long history of the importance of the daily bath. This blend combines the pure essential oils of the Hinoki wood along with the sweet intoxicating aroma of the American Rosewood. I've also added the ever verstile Bergamot and another treasure from Asia, Ylang-Ylang. A plant that is native to the Philippines and Indonesia tropical forests. The scent blend is soft and subtle with a warming scent.
Burly Borealis I wanted to create a bold scent that would match the bold design of the soap that inspired it. This scent blend has a decidedly licorice scent due to the Star Anise and with it we have added Amyris, and Pine. Amyris is also known as West Indian rosewood and West Indian sandalwood, though it has no relation to sandalwood. The scent is deep and rich. Some of my customers have commented that the scent reminds them of scents from India. I especially like this scent blend in the Aroma candle. We currently only offer this scent blend in the soap and in the Aroma Candle.

Air:

For this family of scents, I think of the sweet intoxicating aroma of flowers in bloom. The floral fragrances can be found in this element.

Sanctuary Ah Lavender! I love the smell of Lavender and the therapeutic qualities of the essential oil. I cannot get enough of this wondrous plant. I find that even when I go for a walk around the neighborhood, I cannot resist stopping at just about every plant and taking a deep relaxing breath. Living in Northern California, there are a great many Lavender plants around to enjoy. An added bonus is that you can find blooms just about every day of the year. I decided to keep this one simple and elegant in celebration of this amazing little flower bud so I used only a hint of Chamomile in this one so the main scent will be of wild lavender in bloom.

Romance To me, nothing say's romance more than the sweet smell of roses. This blend of Rose Geranium carries the sweet intoxicating fragrance of the rose but it's note is softer and less overwhelming than pure rose essential oils. The scent is further tempered with the delicate Jasmine absolute and the Litsea Cubeba slightly citrus scent. This blend is especially good for those who enjoy the floral smell of roses but do not want the thick aroma that rose absolute has.
