Trés Spa’s commitment to the environment:
| Trés Spa is committed to helping preserve the planet. We use natural
ingredients and create our products in small batches. Whenever possible
we use recycled paper for our letterhead, post cards, and business cards.
For the rare occasions we need to print, we use recycled paper or paper
made from other resources rather than trees – such as coffee or banana
leaves. |

Eco-friendly packaging
| At Tres Spa, we feel it is important to do our best to help protect the
environment by reducing waste and that is why we support Eco-Friendly
packaging. The “cigar bands” used to wrap the soap and the envelope’s used
to package the tub teas, milk bath, and the smaller size bath salts are handcrafted by
Tres Spa. They contain 100% post consumer papers with a pinch of cotton linter
(to help give it flexibility). They are made by Tres Spa and any additional
color would be from natural additives such as herbs. Our custom gift packaging uses natural wood or grasses for baskets. Our Gift bags are made from Banana paper, Cogon grass, Sinamay, or Bamboo. These Eco-Friendly products are made by artisans in remote villages around the world - creating jobs and fair wages for hard working communities. The filler for our gift packages and for our shipping boxes comes from recycled paper or from wood excelsior. Whenever possible we use a 100% recycled paper for the labels and the packages that are shipped to you are also made of a combination of recycled material. However, there are times when we need to use a material that is not from recycled material. The labels for any product that is used in the shower must be made from a substance that is waterproof. So far, we have not found a suitable material that has been recycled. Tres Spa products use essential oils and in order to keep them as protected as possible from the elements, we use a colored heavy walled container. The color and the heavy walls help prevent light from destroying the delicate oils. These bottles are recyclable so when are you are finished with your product, include the package in your recycled plastics bin. For our aroma candles, we use an 8oz tin that can easily be cleaned after the candle is used up and re-used for any number of items (need a tin for buttons, pins, spare change?). You could even use it for candies or mints. |

Why does Tres Spa use Hemp Oil?
| There are really only two reasons we use Hemp oil. One is that it offers
qualities that cannot be found in any other plant or seed oil that are
beneficial for your skin. The second reason is that it is an incredible
environmentally friendly plant to grow and harvest. Currently, you can
find Hemp oil in most of our soaps, the Old Fashioned Country Scrub, hand and baody lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. Benefit for your skin? This cold pressed oil from the seeds of the hemp plant, contain essential fatty acids, vitamins A, D & E, minerals, as well as Omega 3 & 6. This oil is the only type to offer Omega 3 & 6 (with the exception of fish) and essential to the body. The oil is readily absorbed into the skin so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily. Benefit to the environment? The use of the Hemp dates back to the Stone Age and was found on 10,000 year old pottery shards from Taiwan and China. Today, the Hemp plant is used to create over 25,000 different products. The plants are a highly sustainable resource plant that is a hearty grower, naturally resistant to predators, needs less water than other crops, requires no pesticides, and helps control erosion of top soil. Typical growth cycle is only 100 to 120 days and every part of the plant can be used to create consumer products. There is a great deal of talk about the benefits of Hemp Oil and if you would like to learn more, there is plenty of material to read. Hemp Oil is only just now beginning to grow in popularity in the world of cosmetics and skin care and we are sure it will continue to gain ground as more and more people become aware of it’s rewards for thier personal care as well as the environment.. |
